Renee L. Sheffer (Owner and Production Manager)

I guess you could say it all started way back when I was a child watching my grandmother, mother and aunts making candles in the kitchen. I was a very young age when I poured my first candle; as I grew, it became almost like a competition between me and my family to see who could make the best candles. My grandmother passed away when I was thirteen years old and I decided then that I would keep the tradition alive for my children and my childrens' children. I started making candles as gifts and holdiay presents for family and friends. My friends and family raved about the smell and how my candles burned for long hours, and about how I should start my own business. After much deliberation and thought I started making them to sell to local people around town.

About twelve years ago I started toying with the possibility of starting my own shop, but I knew it took a lot of capital to open my own store. One day, as I was building a webpage for a friend, I thought to myself, "Why not just build myself a webpage and start selling online and maybe someday I would gain enough from that to open my own storefront?" I have over twenty years in candle making experience; so, although I'm new online I'm certainly not new to the candle business. I have four young children myself and a husband, and this allows me to spend the time with my family that most families don't get to spend with one another. So you can see there are lots of reasons why I've opened this online store.

I am now in the process of teaching my eight year old daughter all about the business so hopefully this can become a third generation business. I hope you enjoy my candles as much as I enjoy making them, and I thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to check out our site.

I first met Renee while playing an online game. We quickly became inseparable friends. Before I knew it I became interested in Renee's passion for making handmade items such as: candles, lotions, eye pillows, and more. I really enjoy graphic design and it soon became apparent that Renee could benefit from my skills. And a partnership took off. I am the sales and marketing manager for Mammas Candle Wax. I enjoy working with Renee and hope to do so for many long years.
